Urb-it expands with Foodstuff to offer zero-emission food deliveries in the City of Bristol.
London, 10th March 2021 - Green last-mile logistics provider, Urb-it and online food delivery company Foodstuff have expanded their zero-emission delivery service to the City of Bristol. After a successful February launch in Cambridge, the partnership has gained positive momentum and will deliver food from a diverse range of independent restaurants to doorsteps across Bristol.
As one of Great Britain's ten 'Core Cities, Bristol is the most populous city in South West England, and the first British city to be named European Green Capital, with a pledge to become carbon neutral by 2030. Residents will be pleased to hear that Foodstuff and Urb-it will combine and use smart city delivery technology to offer the city's restaurants a green fleet delivery service. This will ensure that local foodies can order quickly and conveniently from their favourite independent restaurants, all while contributing to the health of their community.
Sebastien Potts, Head of Commercial UK commented, "Since, winning the European Green Capital status back in 2015, Bristol has been committed to becoming more sustainable and ecologically sound. I am therefore excited that our latest collaboration with Foodstuff will give Bristol's ethically minded residents a green delivery option with added convenience. It is becoming increasingly more important that brands can closely align with their consumers' values and ideals, so as a Certified B Corp, we at Urb-it are pleased that we can help Foodstuff act as business force for good in the City of Bristol and beyond."
"As realised by our Cambridge operation, Urb-it's ability to rapidly scale and meet our operational requirements has allowed Foodstuff to focus on, and fine-tune other areas of our business. This has enabled us to make positive progress and expand to Bristol, a city that which known for its culture and strong emphasis on sustainability. Our Bristol operation will be a perfect fit for a B Corp such as Urb-it, and I look forward to bringing the locals fast, reliable and emission free food deliveries from the city's best restaurants." said Toby Savill, Co-Founder of Foodstuff
The Bristol collaboration will see Foodstuff further leverage Urb-it's efficient 'operations as a service' sustainable delivery model, with plans to further roll this out to other major UK cities in the coming months.
