RESQUNIT AB: Delivery of subsea recovery system
RESQUNIT AS, a subsidiary of RESQUNIT AB (Ticker-symbol RESQ) to deliver customized solution to The Flemish Marine Institute for securing expensive subsea equipment.
Globally, millions of expensive installations on the seafloor are deployed, with a rope and buoy as the only surface connection. These connections may be compromised, and expensive ROV operations is required to locate and retrieve. With Resqunit ETR (electronic timer release) system, a backup-buoy will provide a second chance for lost installations.
Though Resqunit's primary market for hardware sales is high-volume, low-cost retrieval systems for fishing gear, this initial contract of 20 customized retrieval systems verifies an important customer segment for the company in 2022 and the coming years.
"Collaborations with governmental institutions is of high value to our company. Although limited commercial value, this contract is an important step towards our regulatory positioning", says CEO Helge Trettø Olsen.
As the company is establishing global presence through distribution agreements, Resqunit is expecting similar deliveries in Canada, USA and Norway in 2022
