JonDeTech and OFILM sign development agreement on presence detection module in laptops
This is the third project that JonDeTech and Chinese OFILM are working on together. The collaboration has already been initiated and the development agreement concerns a module to detect presence in laptops - a cornerstone in Intel's innovation program Project Athena. Turning off power-intensive functions when no one is in front of the computer reduces energy consumption and increases battery life.
To create more efficient energy consumption in battery-powered products such as laptops and tablets, JonDeTech has been developing applications in presence and absence detection. The demand for applications that can help reduce energy consumption for laptops is tremendous and growing, and it's also one of the cornerstones of American Intel's innovation program Project Athena.
- By combining the world's thinnest IR sensor element with OFILM's expertise in consumer electronics, the goal of the collaboration is to develop a module that can easily be implemented into screens. This is a project that JonDeTech has been working on for a while, so it feels extra satisfying to take this big step forward, says Per Lindeberg, CEO JonDeTech.
