Åkerstedts chooses H&D Wireless IoT sensor to extend service to their industrial fan customers.

Stockholm, August 5th, 2019 - H&D Wireless, and Åkerstedts collaborated earlier this spring on an interesting feasibility study in which Raven IoT sensor BOX827 from H & D Wireless was used to monitor one of the most popular industrial fans from Åkerstedts. BOX827 has capability to show both that the sensor was attached to the industrial fan and analysis of its operating times and health status, such as vibration and speed. This has been done without needing electrical connection into the fan itself. Simply by mechanically attaching BOX827 to the fan, it is able to measure these parameters with the built-in sensors. Åkerstedts is now planning to launch this service at Elmia fair in November 2019 and has therefore ordered first deliveries of H&D Wireless BOX827 Raven IoT sensors.

For Åkerstedts, the enhanced service means that they can extend their offer to customers, and now also provide real time information if the fan is operating properly or if it will soon be needing service.

"This IoT project is very interesting to us in our quest to digitize our industrial fans and to broaden our service offering in addition to our products. We are happy to partner with H&D Wireless, which is very solution-oriented and can support us on our digitalization journey," says Jesper Åkerstedts, CEO Åkerstedts AB.

"With the Raven IoT sensor, many companies that today manufacture and supply mechanical equipment with motors for critical processes at their customers, will now also be able to offer real time monitoring to add greater value to their customers. Above all, they will be able to match the service intervals with the actual need, which reduces the cost and ensures efficient operation," says H&D Wireless CEO, Pär Bergsten.

The Raven IoT sensor BOX827 is a rugged, compact unit that can easily be attached to machines or tools for monitoring its health, operating time, interval before next service and has a cloud analysis for predictive maintenance. BOX827 does not require any local connectivity infrastructure such as WiFi as it uses the new LTE Cellular M2M standard CatM and NB1 mobile network through operators such as Telia or Telenor. It is offered together with Griffin® IoT Cloud for remote analysis or for GEPS® where location positioning information of e.g. tools at construction sites can be obtained.  Alternatively, it can be linked to another standard cloud solution that the customer chooses, such as MS Azure, AWS and Google.
