More on our Roadmap 2021

The purpose of Roadmap

Imsys Roadmap is useful both internally in guiding on progress of development activity and externally in marketing as well as in customer contacts. In terms of processing, our Roadmap gives us recurrent opportunities for systematic improvement of our offers as well as solutions. Together with our partners it provides basis to creating a competitive technology fit for targeted applications.

Roadmap in brief

Imsys Roadmap for 2021 has three strategic goals:

· validate key system functions and tools

· demonstrate our system architecture

· demonstrate the technology on a mini silicon chip

Validation of central system functions is about gaining practical evidence. Through tests show that Imsys has working technologies for all individual functions within our microprocessor solution. These include technologies for internal transport of data, technologies for controlling computational work, technologies for external communication and technologies for managing memories, to mention a few areas.

The work to demonstrating Imsys system architecture is also a highly practical test, performed in a model semiconductor environment. Here, different system functions and techniques are linked together to test the overall systems capacity and performance. In Imsys' systems architecture, thousands of processor cores are used in a common circuit that performs computing - in parallel sequence under direction of a common central unit. Imsys model environment for testing system architecture has performed well and executed testing results since October. Demonstration of the system architecture follows schedule of Roadmap and provides promising results.

The most important single goal is to demonstrate Imsys solution on a specialized mini silicon chip. Manufacturing a complete circuit (SoC) at this stage of development is not cost effective, so we test selected areas of the technology in a mini silicon chip. The circuit is kept small to limit the cost. We have therefore recently linked top expertise to the Company to strengthen our opportunities to carry out this work successfully.

Results at the end of February

Due to convincing results from the first two objectives within the Roadmap, we have at an earlier than planned time, started preparatory work to make the design and preparations for ordering the mini silicon chip.

Marketing activities

Imsys' marketing work focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in the automotive and safety sectors. During February, the work took several important steps forward. An interesting but demanding area is applications for processing radar signals. Information collected by radar contains much more data then the corresponding information from the camera, but at the same time, places greater demands on computing capacity. Here, solutions for AI have fantastic opportunities to create great value.

The market

Market activity is growing. The leading industrial players have already decided on AI strategies for their products. The interest in AI and the knowledge of its commercial significance is in the initial stage. We know for sure that industrial applications in AI are predicted to have very strong growth for many years to come. Imsys notes in particular, a growing interest in real-time applications with demand for massive computing power and low energy consumption. This creates business opportunities for Imsys.
