ARCTIC MINERALS HAS APPLIED FOR AN EXPLORATION PERMIT IN VIHANTI, FINLAND, AND HAS BEEN GRANTED TWO MORE RESERVATIONS IN PERÄPOHJA, FINLAND
Arctic Minerals has earlier announced that it has identified its first diamond drill targets at its Vihanti, Finland exploration reservation. The company's Vihanti reservation is located to the south of the old Vihanti mine 40 km south east of Raahe/Brahestad.
Arctic Minerals has acquired both historical and latest data from the Vihanti area, including geophysics, geology and drilling carried out by previous companies and Geological Survey of Finland (GTK). Based on a thorough evaluation of the data and new geophysical modeling the management has identified the first promising drilling targets. During 2019 Arctic Minerals will carry out ground geophysical measurements in order to locate the most optimal drilling sites. Arctic Minerals has 1 March, 2019 at Tukes, the permitting authority in Finland, filed an application for an exploration permit covering these targets.
As earlier announced Arctic Minerals has received promising results in sampling of bedrock and ore floats in the Peräpohja schist belt. The nature of these occurrences supports the company's view that the Peräpohja Schist Belt bears strong resemblance to the Zambian Copper Belt. Following these positive results, the company has applied for and been granted two additional exploration reservations; named Lumi-aapa and Kivilompolo. The company's six reservations in Peräpohja now cover a total of 2 699 km2.
